Diablo 3 has just received a brand new hotfix designed to finally resolve the ongoing issues with the Shard of Hate legendary weapon, which caused it to be extremely effective.

Diablo 3 received its major patch 2.0.1 at the beginning of March, followed by the Reaper of Souls expansion that delivered a huge array of different improvements, new features, and content.

Since then, several more updates have appeared to balance various classes, weapons, or items, and now a fresh hotfix has gone live worldwide for Diablo 3.

According to the official forums, the new fix specifically targets the Shard of Hate legendary weapon, which became way too powerful because of various glitches.

Now, things have been resolved and the weapon should no longer be outlandishly powerful, so check out the two patch notes below.

- Fixed an issue where the internal cooldown for this item's Legendary affix was being reset when dual-wielding. - Fixed an issue where this item's Legendary affix did not account for a skill's proc scalar, causing it to proc on every skill use.

As such, the Shard of Hate should no longer be all that powerful and players can finally start using other legendary weapons and gear without sticking to this one because of its over-the-top power.
