Activision has officially confirmed during its latest financial earnings call that it's going to launch a new Call of Duty title in 2014, continuing the yearly release schedule for the first-person shooter series.

The Call of Duty franchise has been around for quite some time and, ever since the original Modern Warfare, it brought the idea of annualizing the series by having different studios launch a game in an alternate manner each year.

Now, after the debut of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Ghosts, which once again became quite successful, Activision has confirmed that it's going to release another Call of Duty in 2014.

The statement, made by Activision Blizzard boss Bobby Kotick, didn't include any other details, but it's safe to say that the title might arrive from other studios, like Treyarch, which made Black Ops 2 in 2012, or Sledgehammer Games, which helped on Modern Warfare 3 in 2011 and is currently working on a secret project.
