Netflix, the video streaming company, and hardware maker Nintendo announce that they have updated the service on the new Wii U home console in order to allow gamers to use passwords that have the @ symbol.

According to Joystiq, the two companies say that all those users who previously had problems accessing Netflix should be able to log in without a hitch.

Soon after the Wii U was launched, players discovered that some of their passwords were not accepted on Netflix and, after contacting customer service, they found out that the culprit was the @ symbol and that they needed to use the official website to change them.

Nintendo has been touting the multimedia abilities of the new Wii U and the company needed to move fast to make sure that Netflix was available to the entire user base.
