Toyo Keizai’s Corporate Power Ranking is one of the most expected of the new year in Japan because it shows the relative power of companies that operate in the country and it seems that Namco Bandai is the most powerful of those active in the video game space.

The company sits in 126 place this year, a solid increase over the 442 of 2013, and is ahead of Sony, which has seen a drop from 163 to 292 despite the solid launch of the PlayStation 4 home console.

Capcom is in 318, SEGA in 363 and Konami languishes in 567, while Nintendo is way down the chart in 1647, according to DualShockers.

Rankings are linked to the growth, the safety, the scale and the profitability of each company.

Nintendo has recently announced that it is ready for a loss when the fiscal year ends and that it is slashing sales projections for the Wii U from 9 to 2.8 million units.
