Gamers need to play five matches to qualify

Video game developer EA Sports announces that it is launching a new Puck Luck sweepstake for the recently launched NHL 15, which focuses on the Ultimate Team game mode and gives players a chance to pick up a number of attractive prizes.

All an interested gamer has to do is play five matches of Ultimate Team to completion before November 10 in order to be entered.

The grand prize will be awarded to 40 winners and will include one Player Premium Pack, which is both unsellable and untradeable, while all others who enter the Puck Luck sweepstakes will also get a Gold Premium Pack.

The rewards are set to be delivered on November 17.

NHL 15 does not have the same dedicated long-term player base that rival sports simulation like FIFA and Madden NFL enjoy, and the team at EA Sports is probably using the contest as a way to push up participation in Ultimate Team.

The mode allows gamers to get players from packs, which can be bought using real world money, in order to create their perfect fantasy team and then test its quality against friends and rivals.

So far, publisher Electronic Arts has not offered any info on the sales total of NHL 15.
