The development team that has made NBA 2K14 is releasing a new trailer for the basketball simulation that reveals footage taken from the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 versions for the first time.

The images allow fans to take a look at the increase in quality that’s possible on the next generation of hardware and are focused on cover athlete LeBron James.

NBA 2K14 will be offered on launch date on the new consoles from Sony and Microsoft.

NBA Live 14, its main competitor, will also get a trailer with next-gen footage later during the day.

NBA 2K14 offers a new Path to Greatness mode and changes the entire control scheme of the series, with a new focus on right stick dribbling and shooting.

This allows players, after they adapt, to perform some truly impressive modes on the court, both on the defensive and when attacking.
