The development team at Visual Concepts has announced that it has been working with clothing company Nike in order to integrate a new shoe creator system in the upcoming NBA 2K13 basketball simulation.

Players will be able to use the mode to choose materials, then arrange colors and trace patterns in order to create up to 45 layers, which can then be made real by ordering the custom shoes from Nike or can be shared with other members of the NBA 2K13 community.

NBA 2K13 also gets a virtual currency that will allow players to purchase items that boost the stats of the in-game avatars and add other cosmetic elements.

NBA 2K13 will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, the Nintendo Wii and the PSP during the first few days of October.

A Wii U version will also be introduced when the new Nintendo console is out.
