No word on when it might be officially revealed

It seems that a television series based on Myst is set to be aired on Hulu at some point in the near future, although how much it is linked to the classic video game is unknown at the moment.

The information comes from Deadline, which is quoting unnamed sources, and it appears scripts have been written for the new TV series and shooting for it will begin soon.

Evan Daugherty, who has written Divergent, is in charge of the story creation, and the premise will focus on the island and its unique nature, as well as the amnesiac man who awakens there.

Matt Tolmach, who has worked on The Amazing Spider-Man, is the producer, and apparently, the development team at Cyan Worlds, which created Myst, is also involved.

The game was launched in late 1993 and was a classic point-and-click adventure that captured the imagination of a big number of players. The public loved the variety of Ages that could be explored and the complexity of the story the title told.

Other video games and books related to Myst have been launched since, but modern players might not be attracted to a television series based on it because the classic game has not managed to age too well.
