If you ever wanted to play a tycoon game that borrows some mojo from Elixir Studios' great strategy and simulation game Evil Genius, you need look no further than Museum Tycoon.

The game has just gotten its first developer blog, showing some of its basic gameplay concepts at work and discussing where the game is coming.

"The high concept is 'Theme Hospital meets Evil Genius inside a museum.' Players can buy fakes, bribe inspectors and slowly delve into the seedy world of the museum trade."

"Conversely, players can keep their hands clean by sending out explorers to desecra- I mean, 'explore,' ancient temples and monuments to find relics. In addition to all of this, players must manage the day-to-day duties of the museum such as hiring security guards and janitors and researching new shops and stalls," the description on the game's website reads.

The developers confess their inspiration being the humorous and challenging old-school management games, citing Theme Hospital and RollerCoaster Tycoon as shining examples of the concept being put at work.

Gamers will need to keep visitors entertained and impress guests in order to get more money and promote their museums. Furthermore, they will also need to deal with no-good thieves looking to get their hands on your precious artifacts, and mobsters trying to get a cut of your profits.

Museum Tycoon is an upcoming management video game currently in development at MojoBox Games, headed to Windows PC, Mac OS X, and Linux sometime later this year.
