A couple of images showing a Mortal Kombat X-branded Xbox controller have popped up on the Internet, with no official word about it available from either of the parties involved, at least not yet.

The photographs were taken by Iron Galaxy Studios Community Manager Alex Jebailey, at the GameStop Expo in Anaheim, California. The images date from last week, and Jebailey has mentioned that the controller is pending approval for the time being, which might explain why there is no official information regarding the product.

Neither publisher Warner Bros., nor developer NetherRealm Studios or Microsoft, the Xbox platform holder, has said anything regarding the odd-looking controller. The device is shown to have six face buttons and no d-pad, with a single analog stick.

Mortal Kombat X is coming out on April 14, 2015, and it's going to be available on the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One platforms.

The upcoming installment in the series will introduce the higher ratio of new characters, as well as a brand new feature that enables each fighter to have three different variants, adding slight variations to gameplay.

For the time being, there is no information on whether the controller will only be available for the two systems pictured in the images below, but we'll keep an eye out for any official info and return with the news.
