Moebius: Empire Rising, the indie adventure game from the creator of the Gabriel Knight series, Jane Jensen, is now out on Steam for the Windows PC and Mac platforms.

The game has you take on the role of Malachi Rector, an antiques appraiser tasked by a secretive government agency to determine whether a woman murdered in Venice bears a resemblance to any historical figures.

The plot thickens, and he soon finds his way to the middle of an international conspiracy and some disturbing information about his own self, in a contemporary adventure game that merges storytelling with classic point-and-click gameplay and puzzle solving.

The game has drawbacks due to its tight budget, but the enthralling story makes it easy to overlook them and just enjoy the adventure for what it is, especially the particularly enjoyable puzzles where you have to use your powers of observation in order to decipher people and draw a connection between them and famous figures throughout history.

You will travel around the world in a variety of settings and the finally uncover the truth about a revolutionary theory about the human race that the government is attempting to protect at any cost.

We liked the game and considered it a worthwhile experience, and you can see why in our review of Moebius: Empire Rising.
