Among the big announcements made by Microsoft during its E3 2013 press conference was the fact that hugely popular indie game Minecraft will arrive on the Xbox One, after a very successful experience on the Xbox 360.

With over 1 billion hours played and more than 130 million worlds created, Minecraft on the Xbox 360 has been a huge success in terms of popularity and, with six million units sold, it's done great in terms of sales as well.

As such, Microsoft announced during its E3 2013 press conference that a Minecraft Xbox One Edition would be released for the next-gen platform.

Among the new features is the possibility of building bigger worlds, engaging in new multiplayer experiences, and generally sharing the love of Minecraft with others.

Different enhancements are also promised, but no other details were given by Microsoft.

Minecraft for Xbox One will be a launch-day downloadable game.
