Microsoft took some time during its E3 2015 press event to showcase the upcoming HoloLens technology, presenting a special demonstration using Minecraft. The resulting experience is nothing short of magical.

Microsoft surprised quite a lot of people when it revealed the HoloLens device earlier this year, as the special platform brings forth a mixed reality experience that combines virtual and augmented reality for all sorts of application.

The large corporation already employed Minecraft to demonstrate potential gaming applications, and at E3 2015, an even bigger presentation was given to fans.

As you can see in the video below, two Minecraft developers from Mojang show how HoloLens can help cooperative play. One player enters the regular Minecraft world using a Microsoft Surface tablet, and the other uses HoloLens not only to take part in it but also to supervise the virtual world from a top-down perspective.

All sorts of other uses are demonstrated, as the HoloLens wearer can interact in many other ways with the Minecraft world, even by pulling it out of the ground and checking out what's underneath its earth.

The presentation is certainly quite impressive but it's going to be interesting to see just what HoloLens can deliver when it eventually launches at a later point in time. Until then, check out the video below.
