Markus Persson, aka Notch, the creator of Minecraft, says that he is not aware of the development of a Wii U version of the game, which has already been a success on the Xbox 360 and the PC.

Via his official Twitter account, the developer states, “I agree a Wii U version would make sense, btw. The only reason for no current plans is we've got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo.”

Earlier, a fan site had suggested that Minecraft was being ported to the Wii U and that 4J Studios would be handling most of the work associated with the new version of the game.

Minecraft was supposed to have a series of interesting new features that could only be used via the GamePad of the Nintendo home console.

The report also claimed that the Wii U version of the indie game was supposed to arrive in the summer of 2014.

At the same time, ports for the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony will also be launched.
