Video game hardware maker and publisher Nintendo announces that the Miiverse social space is now available for those who own a Wii U on both the PC and on mobile devices, allowing them to connect to their friends at any time.

Satoru Shibata, the president of Nintendo of Europe, states on Twitter that, “Today we launched a beta version of a service that lets you view Miiverse from your PC or smartphone. This beta version has limited functionality but please give it a try if you want to see Miiverse.”

Nintendo is not saying exactly when a full version of the Miiverse app will be launched.

Gamers can use the beta release to comment, interact with communities and draw.

Nintendo has also hinted at a larger future role for Miiverse on the Wii U home console.
