Microsoft has announced that it has decided to skip over the upcoming Gamescom 2012 and Tokyo Games Show 2012 expos, as the company wants to show off the Xbox 360 as well as its upcoming games and features during smaller, more localized experiences.

E3 2012 closed its doors last week and already many gamers are looking forward to new gaming conventions, like the upcoming Gamescom 2012, which takes place this August, and TGS 2012, which is held in September.

Sadly, Microsoft has just revealed that it won’t be present at the two expos. According to its community manager, Larry Hryb, “Xbox will be focusing on smaller, more localized promotions and experiences for press, partners, retailers and customers around the world.”

Microsoft joins other big companies, like Nintendo or THQ, which have already revealed that they won’t be present at this year’s Gamescom 2012.

Look forward to hear more about Microsoft’s upcoming plans in the near future.
