14 DAY TRIAL // Video game hardware maker Microsoft has issued a response to rumors that its next-generation home console will use an always-on Internet connection in order to authenticate video games and ban players from using titles obtained through the used market.
The company tells The Official Xbox Magazine that, “Microsoft does not comment on rumours or speculation. We are always thinking about what is next for our platform, but we don’t have anything further to share at this time.”
The denial is pretty normal for a big company that’s unwilling to talk about a future product, but the second phrase suggests that Microsoft might be ready to listen to players and change its plans as long as one idea is badly received.
The company is expected to officially announce the Xbox 720 before E3 2013 and launch it before the end of the year.
