Microsoft has just registered some more domain names that relate to its very popular Halo franchise, hinting to the announcement of something called Halo Infinity.
The Halo series is set to receive a brand new game later this year, in the form of Halo 4, but Microsoft is already hedging its bets and has begun registering a lot of website domain names relating to the franchise.
Recently, the company made a new round of acquisitions through popular internet brand protection company MarkMonitor, according to Fusible.
These include names like Halo Infinity, but also other domains like Spartan Ops.
Halo fans will no doubt remember that Infinity was a very popular multiplayer map that arrived exclusively in the PC version of Halo: Combat Evolved.
These registrations may hint at the map’s reappearance but nothing is certain as of yet.
Expect to hear some more Halo news later this year, probably at E3 2012 in June.
