The team at publisher Microsoft says that it has no plans to launch any new Halo video games on the Steam digital distribution service after Spartan Assault is delivered on April 4, despite the fact that solid interest from gamers clearly exists.

A representative tells Gamespot that, “We have no further Halo releases on Steam planned at this time.”

A Halo game has not been launched on the PC since the creation of Combat Evolved and Halo 2.

Spartan Assault was first delivered as a tablet-only title and the company has since also launched it on home consoles, seeking to expand the audience that can play it.

Microsoft has also suggested that it might launch an Anniversary Edition for Halo 2 on the Xbox One later during the year.

The team at 343 Industries is also working on a full sequel for the franchise, but so far, no information about it has been offered by the developer or the publisher.

A live action series based on the Master Chief powered universe is also set to arrive on the Xbox One.

Recently, Microsoft says that it plans to focus on PC gaming more in the near future, suggesting that it might create a full replacement for Games for Windows Live.
