After confirming yesterday that the much teased Phantom Pain game is actually Metal Gear Solid 5, Konami has released a batch of screenshots that feature quite a few sequences from the recently released trailer.

Konami and designer Hideo Kojima ran a complex teaser campaign for Metal Gear Solid V, first revealing Ground Zeroes, a sort of prologue, and then revealing separately The Phantom Pain, a game that seemed to have no connection with the Metal Gear Solid series.

Kojima finally confirmed yesterday that the new game will be Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and showcased a lengthy video.

Now, a bunch of screenshots have appeared online, showcasing moments from the video while focusing on protagonist Solid Snake.

The images once again highlight the power of Konami's Fox Engine, which is apparently capable of rendering the impressive footage using current-gen consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360.
