Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance 2, a sequel to the impressive fast-paced hack-and-slash game made by Hideo Kojima, could appear in the near future, at least judging by an enigmatic teaser shared by the Japanese developer during the Taipei Game Show.

The Metal Gear series has mostly revolved around tactical espionage action, putting players in the shoes of mercenary Snake as he and his allies went on all sorts of missions.

However, a few years ago, series creator Hideo Kojima decided to branch off and bring forth, with the help of Platinum Games, a hack-and-slash title in the same universe, in the form of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which focused on cyborg ninja Raiden.

The title was quite impressive but it seems that in recent times Kojima is focusing more on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

However, at the Taipei Game Show, during a sizzle reel presentation for upcoming PS4 exclusives, there was one brand new entry, in the form of a 2 that seems to follow the same font as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

While the connection is sketchy, it's not uncommon for Kojima to engage in these enigmatic teaser campaigns before making actual announcements.

Check out the recorded stream below, via NeoGAF, and look out for the mention of 2 at the 2:46:40 mark.

Update: Kojima Productions denies any teaser and says that the video is made by Sony without any Konami or Kojima influence.
