Electronic Arts has confirmed that one of its core first-person shooter franchises, Medal of Honor, will be replaced from its release rotation, as it has opted to focus on other projects, like Titanfall or Star Wars: Battlefront.

In recent years EA started a first-person shooter release rotation, launching a Battlefield game one year and a Medal of Honor title the other.

After the disappointing Medal of Honor: Warfighter, EA has apparently decided to put the series on hold.

According to EA Labels head Frank Gibeau, who talked with CVG, other shooters like Titanfall and Star Wars: Battlefront are going to be released instead of Medal of Honor.

Until then, shooter fans can enjoy Battlefield 4, this year's entry in the shooter rotation.

Titanfall is set to debut in spring of 2014, while Star Wars: Battlefront has a 2015 release period.
