Mayan Death Robots is one of the hottest indie games from PAX East, attempting to deliver the timeless gameplay of Worms or Tanks in a more modern manner, with a neat cultural flavoring on top.

Throughout time, there have been a ton of games trying to copy the success of those two classics, but most of the time they fail to capture the excitement, the proper balance of whimsy, and serious strategy that made them great.

Mayan Death Robots comes from Sileni Sudios, a 2-man indie video game studio from Belgium, having a simple and straightforward premise. You take on the role of a massive killer robot who lands in the Mexican jungle 1500 years ago.

The action takes place during the peak of the Mayan civilization, and the local populace mistakes you for their god, descended from heavens, and they start worshiping you and fighting on your side, trying to conquer the other tribes.

Of course, those other tribes have gods of their own, so the soil is fertile for deadly confrontation to take place. If you want to see the game in action, you can check out the trailer below.

We are also working on a preview of Mayan Death Robots, so stay tuned.
