The blacksmiths pit Connor's weapon against the standard, Revolutionary War-era one used by Mel Gibon in "The Patriot"

One of the most overlooked debates in popular culture is whether the Revolutionary War-era tomahawk used in "The Patriot" movie is better than the one Assassin's Creed III's Connor uses.

Well, the verdict will hang in balance no more, since the guys at Man at Arms: Reforged decided to take things to the streets and actually build the two weapons and test them out.

Sure, you might say that the standard war-era tomahawk is better due to the fact that Mel Gibson uses it, but the Road Warrior has some pretty stiff competition, in the form of a legendary assassin whose mere name strikes fear (and confusion regarding its pronunciation) amid his enemies' ranks: Ratonhnhaké:ton.

Joking aside, the talented blacksmiths once again showcase their craft, by manufacturing the intricate and stylized tomahawk that Connor uses, complete with the iconic hollow center and bevels.

The weapons they create handle very well, and you can see them at work in the video below, flying through the air and cutting up melons and pumpkins and breaking bottles and aluminum cans.

The clip also follows the entire crafting process, so it's definitely an interesting watch for anyone interested to see how the weapons came to life.
