David Nisshagen, one of the developers working on the newly announced Magicka Wizard Wars, says that the game created by the new Paradox North Studio is not a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title, despite the similarities.

He told PCGamesN that, “It’s not a MOBA,” before claiming that the experience could be classified as NOBA, a term that he did not explain.

The new game has no lanes to work on, no classes, no cooldowns to manage.

The development team wants Magicka Wizard Wars to be a quick and fun experience that allows players to form teams of four and then battle others using the unique free-form spell creation system of the game.

Magicka Wizard Wars has been introduced via a Game of Thrones parody video and will be launched on the PC later during the year.
