The development team at EA Sports confirms that it has no plans to launch its upcoming Madden NFL 25 on the Nintendo-made Wii U home console, after fans have speculated about the core platforms for the American football simulation.

The Tiburon team tells Nintendo Life that, “However, we have a strong partnership with Nintendo and will continue to evaluate opportunities for delivering additional Madden NFL products for Nintendo fans in the future.”

It’s unclear whether the statement means that EA Sports will have a special version of Madden more suited to the Wii U or whether a port at a later date is a possibility.

Madden NFL 25 is set to appear on August 27 on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

There are currently no plans to deliver it on the next generation of consoles from Sony and Microsoft.
