Gamers will get access to a living card game experience

The team at Zero Radius Games LLC and developer Obsidian are announcing that a card game based on Pillars of Eternity, called Lords of the Eastern Reach, is now seeking backing on Kickstarter.

The experience is designed to offer a strategic take on the video game with mechanics that allow players to join one to three friends as they try to build and protect a city by hiring heroes, exploring dungeons, building fortifications and casting spells.

Lords of the Eastern Reach is designed to be interactive and will encourage players to communicate with each other.

Obsidian states, "The original video game development team was actively involved in its development. The design of the card game was done by game industry veteran Chris Taylor (Lead Designer, Fallout) while much of the game's development was done by Obsidian's own Scott Everts and John Lewis."

The concept of Lords of the Eastern Reach seems to be very similar to that of other living card games, like those based on Warhammer fantasy or Game of Thrones, but based on the fictional world associated with Pillars of Eternity.

The project is very successful at the moment and will probably be completely funded in about 24 hours, which means that Zero Radius Games and Obsidian will have a chance to reveal some cool stretch goals.
