The development team at Turbine announces that it is slightly delaying the launch date for the helm’s Deep expansion for The Lord of the Rings Online in order to make sure that it is not affected by power problems that have affected one data center.

The team explains in a Facebook update that, “In order to provide the best possible experience for players, we will be delaying the release of Helm’s Deep until Wednesday November 20th.”

All gamers who are planning to pre-purchase the Helm’s Deep expansion can still take advantage of offers and the various pre-launch events are also extended until tomorrow.

The MMO will get a number of improvements with the new content pack, including changes to game balance and a variety of new items and weapons to battle enemies with.

Lord of the Rings Online is offered under a free-to-play model but gamers who want more game options can also pay a monthly subscription.
