Finnish independent developer Almost Human has announced that the sequel to the 2012 surprise hit role-playing game Legend of Grimrock has now reached a new and important milestone.

The developers announced on the Grimrock website that the second iteration in the series has just reached alpha and is in a completely playable state, from start to finish, and to celebrate it they revealed another screenshot from within the game.

"Alpha in our case means that the game can be completely played from beginning to the very end and that all the planned features exist. The last missing piece from the alpha we had was the ending of the game but now that we got that done, the deal is sealed," the blog post said.

What's left to do now, before Legends of Grimrock 2 can be shipped, is for the devs to start adding polish to all the features, then work on balance tweaks and progression pacing.

The developers have also revealed that their process will be over in the near future, while working to get the game to the beta stage. They intend to visit one area of the game each day and concentrate on improving that place, fixing the biggest issues that arise from playing said level.
