Different screenshots show worse lighting

The latest patch for Assassin's Creed Unity that's now available on the PS4 apparently implements a downgrade in terms of visuals, as screenshots show that the lighting has taken a massive hit in quality.

Assassin's Creed Unity launched earlier this month and it became immediately clear that the game wasn't ready for release, because it suffered from major framerate issues, plenty of gameplay bugs, as well as other problems that caused a fierce backlash from fans.

Ubisoft quickly sprang into action and promised plenty of patches to solve all these problems, and even pledged to offer the premium DLC, Dead Kings, for free, while season pass users can score a free game, with a choice between Far Cry 4 and many other solid Ubisoft titles.

Now, it seems that the latest patch for Unity, at least on the PS4, brings not only over 300 fixes, according to Ubisoft, but also a downgrade in terms of visuals, as revealed by a screenshot comparison, via Reddit.

As you can see above and below, the after-patch visuals have a much lower-quality lighting system. This, in turn, results in less vibrant colors, lower-quality shadows, and in general a poorer image.

As of yet, this is still a report, and it's unclear if the effect is similar on the Xbox One, which also got the update for Unity.
