The development team at Funcom is ready to reveal the Pirate world that will be included in the upcoming LEGO Minifigures Online via a new video that gives fans a chance to see how the set will look in video game form.

The company states, “So ye fancy yerself a proper pirate, aye? Well, then! Pack yer favorite eye patch, you be goin' to the isle of Yarr! Pirate World is but one of many classic LEGO locations players get to explore in LEGO Minifigures Online.”

Funcom has not yet offered information on the full range of game world that will be part of the coming game, which is designed to mix classic MMO mechanics with the special appeal of LEGO bricks.

Gamers will be able to unlock a range of characters and special items associated with the franchise and Funcom has promised that it will give gamers incentives to both cooperate and compete with one another.

LEGO Minifigures Online will be offered using a free-to-play business model and gamers will be able to play it in a browser on the PC and on mobile devices, but also using a dedicated client.

A closed beta stage for the title is expected to arrive during summer, but Funcom has not offered an official date.
