The development team at Traveller’s Tales has launched the first developer diary of their upcoming LEGO Lord of the Rings: The Video Game, which shows the team discussing about how it worked to take the locations, character and battles seen in the books and the movies of the franchise into the video game medium.

LEGO Lord of the Rings: The Video Game will keep the core structure of the other titles based around bricks, allowing players to smash enemies in order to get access to basic building blocks that can then be turned into a variety of characters and items.

There are more than 80 characters that players will be able to unlock.

LEGO Lord of the Rings: The Video Game is set to arrive on October 30 of this year on the PC, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the Wii U, the Nintendo 3DS, the Wii and the Vita.
