The development team at TT Games and Warner Bros. Interactive announce that they are working on an entirely new LEGO Batman video game, called Beyond Gotham, which will allow gamers to go into space in order to use the powers of the Capped Crusader to defend the world from the power of new villain Brainiac.

The companies explain that, “Using the power of the Lantern Rings, Brainiac shrinks worlds to add to his twisted collection of miniature cities from across the universe.”

The developers are saying that Beyond Gotham will ask players to control not just Batman but a variety of other superheroes and villains from DC Comics universe in order to complete quests that will get the Lantern Rings away from Brainiac before he can use them on Earth.

The new title will use the same classic structure and features as other LEGO-themed games, which means that gamers will have plenty of bricks to use to build their own creations and Easter Eggs to discover.

No official launch date is set for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and the team at Warner Bros. has not offered an extensive list of the platforms on which it will be delivered, although it will probably arrive on both the PC and as many consoles as possible.
