Nick Jimenez of auction host Heritage Global Partners has announced Gamespot that Kingdoms of Amalur auction, scheduled for November 13 and 14, has been delayed to December, pending court approval.

The content included in the auction features rights to the Kingdoms of Amalur property that was conceptualized by RA Salvatore, Ken Rolston and Todd McFarlane, the MMO Project Copernicus that is not fully complete and properties acquired by 38 Studios when it engulfed Big Huge Games.

Furthermore, this includes Rise of Nations, Rise of Legends and Catan. Also, this comes with the Big Huge Games Engine, and 38 Studios’ Helios development and management platform as well.

Currently, no publishers have showed interest in bidding on the Amalur IP, but last year, EA President Frank Gibeau said that he hoped that Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning would receive a sequel.

Rhode Island decided to delay this auction after it noted more interest in the property. The guys from 38 Studios were heavily in debt to the state of Rhode Island, therefore, the income was drawn from ongoing sales of Kindgom of Amalur: Reckoning.

This extra time from the delay will provide the chance to have those interested organize bids and as a result, the state gets a higher price on everything.

Moreover, it seems that the team from 38 Studios is being sued for mismanagement, among other allegations, as well as dispositions that began in late October.
