Video game developer Tripwire Interactive has announced that Killing Floor, their zombie-based shooter, has managed to get more than 1 million copies sold on the PC close to the two and a half launch anniversary date.

The developers have also announced that close to 2 million downloadable content packs for the game have been sold and that the players who have engaged with the game have spent more than 45 million hours playing Killing Floor.

The statistics continue with the stunning figures of 440 million Zeds killed, of which about one quarter of a million were wearing the Santa Christmas costume, with more than 20,000 of them being destroyed each hour.

The community has also contributed to the success of the game by creating hundreds of maps that have been played by the various Killing Floor fan groups.

Players who have not yet played it can get Killing Floor via Steam, Gamefly, Green Man Gaming and Gamersgate.
