Microsoft and new developer Iron Galaxy Studios have released a brand new trailer for Killer Instinct: Season 2, as well as a couple of new screenshots for the fighting game, while promoting the game at Tokyo Game Show.

The new media offerings provide a sneak peek at a new fighter that will show up for the party in Season 2, Maya, showing her rendered in-game for the first time. Iron Galaxy Studios teased her with some concept art before, but this is the first time that we get to see how she actually looks in-game, and the video also shows her in action, highlighting her arsenal of deadly moves and combos.

Killer Instinct: Season 2 is scheduled to drop on October 15, 2014, and will include 8 fighters. So far, TJ Combo from the original Killer Instinct was confirmed, and now the video from Xbox Japan shows Maya, a returning veteran from Killer Instinct 2, in action, and teases Imhotep from The Mummy.

Killer Instinct is one of the best free-to-play games exclusive to the Xbox One, initially developed by Double Helix, who also rebooted classic action platformer Strider.

The remake of the classic fighting game was universally acclaimed for having captured the essence of the original, and Iron Galaxy Studios is so far doing a pretty good job of expanding the title.
