Just Cause 2 developer Avalanche Studios has confirmed that it's been drawing inspiration from the multiplayer mod made by fans of the game, although it won't confirm as of yet a Just Cause 3 installment.

Avalanche Studios is currently working on the Mad Max game but also on a new installment in its Just Cause franchise.

While the studio won't confirm as of yet the existence of the new title, its founder, Christofer Sundberg, has revealed that the Just Cause 2 multiplayer mod has given his team plenty of ideas in terms of the franchise's future.

"The multiplayer mod has been really inspiring to us. We have been discussing what we’d like to do with the Just Cause IP in the future, but it’s too early to talk about it just yet," he told Eurogamer.

As such, it's possible that Just Cause 3 might feature a multiplayer mode made by Avalanche itself when it eventually launches in 2015, according to recent rumors.
