The share is higher than that of the PSP and the PS2

Despite the high-profile late 2012 launch of the new Wii U home console from Nintendo the device has not managed to generate software hits during this year, selling just 34,000 game copies during the month of January on the United Kingdom market.

The figure includes those copies of NintendoLand that were bundled with the actual packaged console, according to data compiled by CVG.

The full sales chart for January in the United Kingdom includes:

Xbox 360: 810,000 - 38.4% PlayStation 3: 545,000 - 25.8% PC: 228,000 - 10.8% Nintendo Wii: 182,000 - 8.6% Nintendo DS: 139,000 - 6.6% 3DS: 112,000 - 5.3% PlayStation Vita: 46,000 - 2.2% Nintendo Wii U: 34,000 - 1.6% PlayStation Portable: 13,000 - 0.6% PlayStation 2: 2,000 - 0.1%

Nintendo earlier revealed that it expected to sell smaller than expected quantities of Wii U home consoles worldwide until March 31.
