The measure is unlikely to pass Congress and would not contribute to gun control

Joe Biden, the vice president of the United States of America, says that there’s no legal obstacle to an initiative that would see violent content creators being hit with an additional tax, which would then be used to compensate victims of real-world incidents.

Politico says the vice president talked about the possibility while engaged in a closed-door meeting with religious leaders, trying to assess their position on gun control.

The taxation proposal was made by Reverend Franklin Graham and would target video game creators, but also movie companies.

Biden allegedly says there are “no restriction on the ability to do that, there’s no legal reason why they couldn’t.”

The United States is still dealing with the aftermath of the Sandy Hook incident in late 2012, but rather than focusing on gun control, it seems that many politicians are interested in scoring points by targeting the video game industry.
