Japan: Pokemon Black & White 2 Dominates 2012 Chart

Followed by Animal Crossing, New Super Mario Bros 2 and Dragon Quest

Pokemon Black & White 2, the creature-based title from GameFreak and Nintendo, is the best sold video game for 2012 on the Japanese market.

The figures from Media Create, the publisher of Famitsu, say that the rest of the top ten is made up of:

Animal Crossing: New Leaf – 1,969,955 – 3DS
New Super Mario Bros. 2 – 1,743,791 - 3DS
Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D – 919,870 - 3DS
Resident Evil 6 – 833,012 - PlayStation 3
One Piece: Pirate Warriors – 828,150 - PlayStation 3
Mario Kart 7 - 748,797 - 3DS
Super Mario 3D Land – 689,374 - 3DS
Mario Party 9 – 641,348 - Wii
Dragon Quest X – 609,783 - Wii

The Nintendo 3DS has managed to sell 7,689,512 devices during 2012, while the PlayStation Vita has also delivered 1,130,820.

The overall hardware sales leader in Japan is the PlayStation 2, with close to 22 million consoles sold during its lifetime.
