The 3DS handheld is again the best-selling video game hardware platform in Japan, with 26,092 units delivered to fans during the week that ended on May 10.

But the Nintendo device is in decline when compared to the same period of last year, which might be a sign that its domination is nearing its end.

The Vita is in second place, another handheld that is losing sales, with 17,938 devices delivered to users.

The PlayStation 4 has dropped from 19,782 to 15,992, but has managed to almost double the numbers that it posted in 2014, according to Media Create data cited by NeoGAF.

The Wii U from Nintendo has done something similar, with current sales of 11,137.

When it comes to video games, the leader continues to be Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition for the 3DS from GungHo Online Entertainment, which has delivered 38,914 copies to its fans.

Style Savvy 3: Kira Kira Code is in second, and the final position on the podium is occupied by Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition.

The rest of the top ten is made up of: Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Kart 8, Bravely Second: End Layer, Pokemon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire, Mario Party 10, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, and Yo-kai Watch 2: Shin Uchi.
