Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns, the Japanese role-playing game from Square Enix, has managed to take the number one position in the Japan chart during its first week on sale, moving a little over 270,000 copies to gamers, which is rather low for the franchise.

On the hardware front, the 3DS handheld from Nintendo is once again on top, according to data from NeoGAF, with overall sales of 84,506 coming from 70,102.

The PlayStation Vita from Sony has seen a huge drop and is currently only managing to move 28,912 devices to fans for the week that ended on November 24.

The Wii U has seen a new increase in its own numbers and it is selling better than the PlayStation 3.

The rest of the video game chart includes: Super Mario 3D World, One Piece: Unlimited World Red, Pokemon X / Y, Aikatsu! 2-nin no My Princess, God Eater 2, World Soccer Winning Eleven 2014, Call of Duty: Ghosts - Subtitled Edition, Monster Hunter 4 and God Eater 2 on the PSP.
