The Nintendo 3DS continues to lead the Japan hardware chart for the final tracked week of last year, with overall sales of 218,351, which are almost unchanged from the previously tracked period and higher than at the same point in 2013.

The Wii U continues to improve its own performance, according to Media Create data quoted by NeoGAF, and has pushed its own numbers up to 48,927, while the Vita handheld has also seen a boost and reached a little more than 40,000, despite the fact that no big releases for them have been launched.

In an overall good week for hardware in Japan, the PlayStation 4 from Sony is at 30,145 units delivered to customers, and the older PS3 also posted an increase, while the Xbox One is back under 1,000.

The best-selling video game for the same period is again Yo-kai Watch 2: Shin Uchi, which managed to deliver 265,226 copies to its fan base, followed by Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and by Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

The rest of the top ten includes: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Final Fantasy Explorers, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, Yo-kai Watch 2: Ganso / Honke, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Out of Order, and Gundam Breaker 2.
