The 3DS has managed to once again top the hardware chart in Japan for the week that ended on January 11, the first full one from 2015, having delivered more than 57,000 units to gamers in the country, but the console is showing signs of long-term decline as it managed to move more than 60,000 during the same period last year.

The PlayStation Vita continues to stay in second, with no chance of surpassing the Nintendo handheld, and has managed to sell 22,327 devices, also down when compared to 2014, while third place belongs to the PlayStation 4, which had a solid week and managed to deliver 19,118 home consoles to its own fan base.

The Wii U from Nintendo might be underperforming but it seems to be improving and has once again gone over the 10,000 mark, according to data from Media Create posted by NeoGAF.

The PlayStation 3 has sold a little more than 8,000 units and the Xbox One stands at 563.

In the software world, Yo-kai Watch 2: Shin Uchi for the 3DS from Level 5 is again first, with sales of 74,998 copies for the week.

The rest of the top ten includes: Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Yo-kai Watch 2: Ganso / Honke, Gundam Breaker 2, Grand Theft Auto V, Mario Kart 8, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
