The company had great hopes, but the games underdelivered

James Bond themed video games published by Activision Blizzard have now been removed from the Steam digital distribution service and from the company’s own store.

This includes 007 Legends, which launched in 2012 and was created by Eurocom, James Bond 007: Blood Stone, from Bizarre Creations and Quantum of Solace, from Treyarch.

The James Bond theme was always highly sought after by video game publishers.

Electronic Arts held it until 2006 when Activision stepped forward in order to pick it up, with a deal that runs until 2014 and allows the company to create video games to accompany all major movie releases from MGM.

It’s unclear whether Activision is having trouble with the license holder or whether the company is simply doing some sort of weird maintenance that is only affecting James Bond video games.
