Sony has just confirmed that it's going to release a Jak and Daxter HD Collection in the future, after quite a few rumors popped up about its existence in recent weeks.

Current generation platforms have seen a lot of older games appear for them, not just in the form of classics, but also through high definition collections, which include quite a few earlier titles from established franchises, like God of War or Metal Gear Solid, all remastered in HD and with extra features.

After seeing quite a lot of established PS2 franchises appear for the PlayStation 3, it's now time for another to reach the Sony console, as the company confirmed, via Game Informer, that a Jak and Daxter collection is coming, which includes the three PS2 games that have appeared in the series created by Naughty Dog: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3.

No word yet on when we might see this HD collection, although it's likely that it will appear for the PS3 sometime next year. Expect more details in the near future.
