Video game director J.J. Abrams announces that he is still working on secret video game projects with developer Valve because he believes the technology can deliver an interesting experience when mixed with movies.

He is quoted by The Official Xbox Magazine as saying that, "The dream is – we’re working with Valve right now on a couple of projects – is to say okay, despite its existence as a game, despite its existence as a movie, what makes this great? And starting from scratch, let’s make this from the ground up great, regardless of what’s come before."

The movie director, who has recently rebooted the Star Trek series, says that any kind of video game based on a movie needs to exist on its own terms rather than as an ancillary product.

J.J. Abrams has recently explained that he was disappointed in the video game that Digital Extremes created to highlight the relationship between Spock and Kirk.
