The new Tomb Raider video game might be an origin story that focuses on the early days of Lara Croft’s adventures, but the art director working with developer Crystal Dynamics on the title says that gamers should also pay attention to the world around the protagonist.

Horton tells CVG that, “We've often said that the island is the second most important character in the game.”

The character will have to deal with wind, rain and fire and the writer adds, “All of these attributes mirror a primal idea of survival but we're not just trying to make the aesthetic right. The wind will actually have a mechanics aspect to it. You'll be able to utilize the wind to your advantage - it could also be used as a deterrent in some way.”

Pratchett also commented on the tomb areas in the game, which will be 10 to 20 times bigger than what players are used to from the series.
