Video game developer Turbine announces that its Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title Infinite Crisis will get a new character, Blue Beetle, on April 30, offering fans the options of trying out another hero from the extensive DC Comics universe.

In the official reveal video for the new character, the studio explains that, "Jamie Reyes wandered into a fight between warring super-human gangs and, desperate to escape, stumbled across the object which they were fighting over: a strange blue scarab. The scarab bonded to Jamie and instantly covered his body with battle armor."

The scarab is actually a powerful weapon of war that can speak directly to the human and tries to influence his will, but Reyes is able to keep his free will intact and use the power of the alien tech for good.

Blue Beetle will be focused on assassination skills and on marksman powers in Infinite Crisis, which means that gamers can use him to take out his enemies from afar, while also supporting their allies in the MOBA.

The game is at the moment in beta testing and is delivered using a free-to-play business model.

The title has to compete with the likes of League of Legends from Riot Games and DOTA 2 from Valve.
