The Internet Archive has recently opened the Console Living Room, putting together a vast collection of console games from the late 70s and 80s.

The site currently features many titles from five different systems, Atari 2600, Atari 7800 ProSystem, ColecoVision, Magnavox Odyssey and Astrocade.

The collections are far from complete, but they consist of hundreds of games, among which classics of the arcade genre such as Asteroids, Donkey Kong, Frogger, Pac Man, Double Dragon and Galaga.

The games can be played online, emulated with the JSMESS emulator system, and available to play right in the browser, with no additional plugins or settings required.

Sound is not supported for any of the titles, and some of them may experience lag or other glitches, especially on older machines.

Now everyone can freely experience the vintage titles that started what now is a billion dollar industry, courtesy of the Internet Archive's Console Living Room.
